Bride To Be

Zoë Kravitz

The marriage between Zoë Kravitz and Karl Glussman from June 29th 2019 didn’t necessarily last long but the fashion for sure will. Kravitz chose an Alexander Wang creation for her big day – featuring a drop-waist, fitted bodice and an ankle-length tulle skirt. A beautiful and unexpected choice but what really pulled together the look was the accompanying accessories. Kravitz opted for kitten heels – good idea for comfort – and a headband. Her jewelry was kept very minimal, so the large skirt on the dress could be the center of attention.

The Princess of Wales

Before she was the Princess of Wales, she was Kate Middleton. She married Prince William at Westminster Abbey on April 29th 2011 and opposed Zoë Kravitz, nothing was kept minimal on this occasion.

Her dress was in ivory and white vision made by Sarah Burton, creative director of Alexander McQueen. It had long sleeves in couture lace which also covered the entire upper part of the dress. The skirt was puffy and the bottom was covered in the same lace as the upper body. Her veil was made from layers of tulle and was accompanied by a Cartier Halo tiara borrowed from Queen Elizabeth II. The Princess of Wales also wore a pair of drop earrings.

Nothing is too much for a real life fairytale wedding!

Amal Clooney

A wedding doesn’t have to equal a wedding dress as proven by Amal Clooney. She got married to George Clooney at a civil service in Venice in 2014. She turned heads as she turned up in not a dress but a two-piece ensemble. Cream wide-legged pants and a short-sleeved top with a navy trim was the understated star of the show. To compliment the very chic European look, she didn’t opt for a veil but instead wore a wide-brimmed hat that had the same navy trim as her top. The bride held her must-have items in a cream clutch as well.

Lily Allen

Another understated – but more traditional than Amal Clooney – can be found with a glimpse of Lily Allen. The singer said “I do” to actor David Harbour in a low-key ceremony in Las Vegas in September 2020.

Allen wore a short double-breasted dress by Christian Dior which would make anyone think retro chic. The buttons on the dress were black and to tie the look together she opted for black Miu Miu heels. She had on a few simple pieces of jewelry but what really took the otherwise simple outfit to new heights were the vail – tulle as long as the dress and propped into her 60s bouffant updo.

There are no limits when it comes to styling on the day of your wedding – it’s your big day! You can make the dress the star of the show or you can go minimal and instead choose to go all out on accessories. It’s all about doing exactly what feels right for you.
